The written judgement
MaybeVyian's fault is a plain one and he brought it on himself. He asked for the dress ruling, he was given it, he acknowledged it more than once, and then he paraded his formation out of that dress, in the Zaenderist armband and white gloves he had just been told not to wear. On a day that was meant to look sharp, one of the formations looked wrong, and it looked wrong because the man leading it ignored an order he had personally confirmed. That is part of why the parade did not come off as it should have, and it is squarely his.
The court records guilt on the failure to comply for the dress order. The ceremony count the Ministry pleaded only conditionally is not pressed and is not found; the dress order is enough and it is proved out of his own acknowledgements.
This is a discipline and dress matter, not a man abandoning his post, and the sentence reflects that. Keeping to the restraint the Ministry has shown in parade cases since the Victory over Teutonnia parade, there is no reduction in rank. He is set a penance at the hall of penance, which is the right answer to a man who knew the order, agreed to it, and then broke it in front of everyone. The Grand Order is not awarded, because the duty it rewarded was not performed well.
